Welcome to Clever Certificates. By accessing or using our website and services (the "Service"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the Service.
Accounts
When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information. Failure to do so may result in termination of your account.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for any activity under your account. Notify us immediately of unauthorized use.
Emails

Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Pakistan. You agree that any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Karachi, Pakistan, and you waive any right to object to such jurisdiction or venue.
Template Usage & Legal Disclaimer
All templates on Clever Certificates are intended for personal, novelty, celebratory, or educational use only. They are not official documents and have no affiliation with any government, institution, or accrediting authority.
You agree not to use any template for unlawful or deceptive purposes, including but not limited to:

Committing fraud, deception, or impersonation

Using templates in any manner that violates applicable laws
Strict Consequence Notice:
Any attempt to misuse templates—particularly those resembling diplomas, GED certificates, licenses, or professional qualifications—will result in immediate account termination, cancellation of orders, and may result in your information being shared with legal authorities where required by law.
We reserve the right to refuse service, cancel orders, or suspend accounts if we reasonably suspect misuse, fraud, or violation of these Terms.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service and all templates are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Limitation of Liability
In no event shall Clever Certificates, its directors, employees, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses, arising out of your use or inability to use the Service. Users are solely responsible for how templates are used and presented.
Special Notice (GED & Official-Looking Templates):
Certain template styles may resemble educational, licensing, or certification documents. These designs are provided strictly for novelty, gift, display, or ceremonial purposes.
Permitted Use:
Organizations may use templates for internal purposes (training completions, employee recognition, ceremonial awards) as long as the template is not presented as an official government-issued credential.
Prohibited Use:
Using any certificate to falsely claim or imply academic achievement, licensing status, or professional qualification is strictly forbidden and may lead to account termination and potential legal action.
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to refuse service, cancel orders, or suspend accounts if we reasonably suspect misuse, fraud, or violation of these Terms.
Digital Content Access
Templates purchased via Pay As You Go (one-time purchase) remain accessible for 30 days from the date of purchase.
We may extend access at our discretion upon customer request. To avoid any risk of data loss, customers are encouraged to download all files promptly.
If a template design is updated or replaced, some previous orders may automatically reflect the new version.
For Academy Yearly Subscription Plans, access to templates, the Issuer Dashboard, and QR Code Verification remains active for the full duration of the paid yearly period. Upon expiry or cancellation, the ability to issue new certificates and Dashboard access is revoked. Certificates previously issued remain verifiable via their QR codes indefinitely.
Designs saved as browser drafts during a Free Design Preparation Tool session are temporary and are not considered purchased content. Only completed, paid orders qualify for the 30-day access and download guarantee.
Verification URL & QR Code Add-on Hosting & Maintenance
When purchasing a "Verification URL" or "QR Code" add-on as part of a Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) one-time order, the purchase covers the generation and initial activation of your dynamic verification assets. Ongoing hosting and maintenance of these links are managed through your Issuer Dashboard under the following terms:
- Dashboard Portfolio Maintenance Plans: To keep your collective library of generated verification links active on our subdomains, issuers must maintain an active Portfolio Maintenance Plan within their Issuer Dashboard. These plans are billed as a flat annual dashboard subscription determined by the total volume of active URLs you maintain.
- Free Maintenance Tier ("Free Forever"): We offer a complimentary tier for accounts hosting five (5) or fewer active verification URLs. While we aim to keep these links active indefinitely, free-tier hosting is guaranteed for a maximum of five (5) years from the date of asset creation, or for the operational lifetime of the Clever Certificates platform, whichever is shorter. We reserve the right to modify, limit, or discontinue free hosting tiers at our sole discretion with 30 days' notice.
- Paid Subscription Tiers: For issuers maintaining larger portfolios (e.g., up to 100 active URLs for $10/year), hosting remains active for exactly one (1) year (365 days) from the subscription payment date, subject to the ongoing operational lifetime of the Clever Certificates platform. To prevent interruption, the annual maintenance fee must be paid before the current billing period expires. All fees paid for portfolio maintenance are strictly non-refundable, including in the event of platform restructuring, discontinuation, or permanent shutdown.
- Fair Use Policy (Annual Scan Limit): To maintain platform performance, prevent server abuse, and protect your verification pages from automated web scraping or bot traffic, every Verification URL is subject to a fair-use limit of 2,500 verifications (scans) per year. Throttling, temporary restrictions, or bandwidth upgrades may apply if this limit is exceeded.
- Expired or Deactivated URLs: If a maintenance plan expires or is cancelled, the associated URLs will be temporarily deactivated. Rather than returning a broken "404 Not Found" error, deactivated pages will display a standard system landing page stating: "This verification link is temporarily inactive. Please contact the certificate issuer to restore access."
- Exceptions to Standard Download Rules: While standard certificate design template access is subject to our thirty (30) day download rule, active Verification URLs and QR code pages remain hosted on our subdomains for the duration of their active maintenance terms. Deactivation of a Verification URL does not affect your rights to previously downloaded PDF or PNG files.
Subscription Plans
Clever Certificates offers Academy Yearly Subscription Plans (Starter and Pro) giving access to a designated certificate category, the Issuer Dashboard, and QR Code Verification. Subscriptions are category-specific — a Martial Arts Academy Plan grants access to Martial Arts templates only.
Subscription pricing, features, and included categories are subject to change. Existing subscribers will be notified of material changes before they take effect. "Cancel anytime" refers to cancellation of auto-renewal only — access continues until the end of the paid billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a paid period. Payment Processor Updates
If we change our payment provider, all active subscribers will be notified via email. Subscribers must update their payment details within 30 days to avoid automatic cancellation at the end of their billing cycle.
Pay As You Go Order Types
Clever Certificates currently supports two types of one-time (non-subscription) orders. Each order type provides different editing workflows and access rules.
1. Pre-Purchase Design & Download Workflow
Best for: Mobile + Desktop users who want to fully edit before paying

Customers utilize our **Free Design Preparation Tool**, which is optimized for all devices (desktop, tablet, mobile).

This tool allows users to complete **essential customization** (text, dates, logos) of the template **before purchase** to prepare the final file.

After completing edits, the customer proceeds to checkout.

Once the payment is confirmed, the system immediately sends a View & Download link for the finalized version.

No further editing is allowed after purchase because the design is already finalized during the pre-checkout session.

Auto-Save & Browser Draft Storage
When using the Free Design Preparation Tool, your in-progress design is automatically saved to your browser's local storage (localStorage) as you edit. This allows you to resume your design later without losing your work, even if you close the tab or navigate away.
Key points:
- Your draft is saved only on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you proceed to checkout.
- Drafts stored in your browser expire automatically after 7 days.
- You may discard a saved draft at any time using the "Start Fresh" option in the editor.
- Upon proceeding to checkout and completing payment, your finalized design is saved server-side and a View & Download link is delivered to your email. The browser draft is retained as a recovery fallback but no longer reflects your purchased file.
- No personal information (name, email, or payment details) is stored in your browser through the editor.
We are not responsible for draft loss caused by clearing browser data, switching devices, using private/incognito browsing, or browser storage limitations.
2. Post-Purchase Advanced Editor Access
Best for: Desktop users who want advanced features and editing after payment

The customer purchases the template first.

After payment confirmation, the system sends a secure edit link leading to the full, rich design editor, which includes advanced customization tools.

The user can then customize the template and download the finalized result.

The full editor is currently optimized for desktop/laptop only and is not recommended for mobile devices.
This method provides a more extensive editing environment after purchase.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account without notice if we detect misuse or breach of terms. Upon termination, all access to the Service will be revoked.
Misuse Reporting
We may report suspected fraudulent activity or illegal misuse of templates to payment processors, online platforms, or legal authorities as required by law.
Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time by posting the updated version on our website. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
