Subscriptions & Refund Policy

Understand our subscription terms, refund eligibility, and data retention policy.

1Membership Types

Clever Certificates offers the following ways to access our templates and platform features:

  • Academy Yearly Subscription Plans (Starter & Pro) – Annual access to a specific certificate category, the Issuer Dashboard, and QR Code Verification.
  • Unlimited Access Plan – Unlimited access to all templates with monthly recurring billing.
  • Pay As You Go – Purchase individual templates as needed.

2Unlimited Access Plan (Monthly)

Memberships renew monthly unless canceled. Key details:

  • Cancel before renewal (midnight UTC) to avoid charges.
  • Access continues until the end of the billing period if canceled on the renewal date.
  • Payments are non-refundable once processed.

Non-Refundability

Payments are non-refundable as full access is granted instantly.

3Academy Yearly Subscription Plans

Academy Plans (Starter and Pro) are billed annually and provide access to a specific certificate category (e.g. Martial Arts), the Issuer Dashboard, and QR Code Verification for every certificate issued.

Billing & Auto-Renewal

  • Payment is charged in full at the start of each yearly period.
  • Plans auto-renew annually unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • You will receive a renewal reminder email before each billing date.

What "Cancel Anytime" Means

Cancelling your Academy Plan stops future auto-renewal only. It does not end your current access. You retain full access to the Issuer Dashboard, QR verification, and templates until the end of your paid yearly period. No partial or pro-rata refunds are issued for unused months remaining in the paid period.

Refund Window

A full refund is available within 7 days of purchase, provided the Issuer Dashboard and QR Code Verification features have not been actively used. After 7 days, payments are non-refundable regardless of usage.

Category Access

Each Academy Plan grants access to one designated certificate category only (e.g. a Martial Arts Academy Plan covers Martial Arts templates only). Access to other categories requires a separate plan.

Data After Cancellation or Expiry

  • Certificates already issued remain verifiable via their QR codes even after your plan expires.
  • Your Issuer Dashboard and issued records are retained for 30 days after expiry, then permanently deleted.
  • We will send a courtesy reminder email before deletion.

4Saved Templates & Data

  • Templates remain for 30 days post-cancellation.
  • After 30 days, all templates are permanently deleted.
  • We send a courtesy email reminder before deletion.

Data Responsibility

Users must back up templates before their plan ends.

5Pay As You Go Purchases

  • Refund requests: within 2 days of purchase.
  • No refunds for templates accessed, downloaded, or customized.

6Refund Policy

No refunds for:

  • Academy Yearly Plans after the 7-day refund window has passed, or if the Dashboard or QR verification has been used.
  • Academy Yearly Plans — no partial refunds for unused months within a paid yearly period.
  • Unlimited Access Plan after access is granted.
  • Pay As You Go templates once used.
  • Past billing periods.
  • Professional Customization Add-on once work begins.

7Exceptions

Defective or misrepresented templates or platform features may be eligible for a replacement or refund at our discretion. Contact support with details.

8Requesting a Refund

Email support@clevercertificates.com with:

  • Order or subscription reference number
  • Brief reason for refund
  • For Academy Plans: confirmation that the Dashboard has not been used

9Processing Time

Refunds are processed within 7–10 business days once approved.

10Access Restrictions

Accounts are for a single registered user. Sharing, reselling, or redistributing templates or Dashboard access is prohibited. Academy Plans may not be shared across multiple academy locations or franchises under a single subscription.

11Payment Failures

Failed payments will be retried up to 3 times. Access is paused until resolved. For yearly plans, failure to complete payment on renewal will result in suspension of Dashboard and QR verification access.

12Policy Updates

We notify users of major changes via email. Continued use of the service means acceptance of updated terms.
