All templates on Clever Certificates are intended for personal, novelty, celebratory, or educational use only. They are not official documents and have no affiliation with any government, institution, or accrediting authority.
You agree not to use any template for unlawful or deceptive purposes, including but not limited to:

Strict Consequence Notice:
Any attempt to misuse templates—particularly those resembling diplomas, GED certificates, licenses, or professional qualifications—will result in immediate account termination, cancellation of orders, and may result in your information being shared with legal authorities where required by law.
We reserve the right to refuse service, cancel orders, or suspend accounts if we reasonably suspect misuse, fraud, or violation of these Terms.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service and all templates are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Limitation of Liability
In no event shall Clever Certificates, its directors, employees, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses, arising out of your use or inability to use the Service. Users are solely responsible for how templates are used and presented.
Special Notice (GED & Official-Looking Templates):
Certain template styles may resemble educational, licensing, or certification documents. These designs are provided strictly for novelty, gift, display, or ceremonial purposes.
Permitted Use:
Organizations may use templates for internal purposes (training completions, employee recognition, ceremonial awards) as long as the template is not presented as an official government-issued credential.
Prohibited Use:
Using any certificate to falsely claim or imply academic achievement, licensing status, or professional qualification is strictly forbidden and may lead to account termination and potential legal action.
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to refuse service, cancel orders, or suspend accounts if we reasonably suspect misuse, fraud, or violation of these Terms.
Digital Content Access
Templates purchased via Pay As You Go (one-time purchase) remain accessible for 30 days from the date of purchase.
We may extend access at our discretion upon customer request. To avoid any risk of data loss, customers are encouraged to download all files promptly.
If a template design is updated or replaced, some previous orders may automatically reflect the new version.
Subscription Plans
Subscription plan details, pricing, and features are subject to change. All applicable terms will be disclosed at checkout or before billing.
Payment Processor Updates
If we change our payment provider, all active subscribers will be notified via email. Subscribers must update their payment details within 30 days to avoid automatic cancellation at the end of their billing cycle.
Pay As You Go Order Types
Clever Certificates currently supports two types of one-time (non-subscription) orders. Each order type provides different editing workflows and access rules.
1. Pre-Purchase Design & Download Workflow
Best for: Mobile + Desktop users who want to fully edit before paying

Customers utilize our **Free Design Preparation Tool**, which is optimized for all devices (desktop, tablet, mobile).

This tool allows users to complete **essential customization** (text, dates, logos) of the template **before purchase** to prepare the final file.

After completing edits, the customer proceeds to checkout.

Once the payment is confirmed, the system immediately sends a View & Download link for the finalized version.

No further editing is allowed after purchase because the design is already finalized during the pre-checkout session.

2. Post-Purchase Advanced Editor Access
Best for: Desktop users who want advanced features and editing after payment

The customer purchases the template first.

After payment confirmation, the system sends a secure edit link leading to the full, rich design editor, which includes advanced customization tools.

The user can then customize the template and download the finalized result.

The full editor is currently optimized for desktop/laptop only and is not recommended for mobile devices.
This method provides a more extensive editing environment after purchase.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account without notice if we detect misuse or breach of terms. Upon termination, all access to the Service will be revoked.
Misuse Reporting
We may report suspected fraudulent activity or illegal misuse of templates to payment processors, online platforms, or legal authorities as required by law.
Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time by posting the updated version on our website. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
