Frequently Asked Questions

A first aid certificate should list the trainee's full name, the first aid course title (e.g. Standard First Aid, Emergency First Aid at Work, Pediatric First Aid), the completion date, the certificate expiry or renewal date, and the issuing organisation or instructor's name. Add all of these directly in the editable text fields.

Most first aid certifications are valid for 3 years in the US and 3 years under HSE guidelines in the UK (Emergency First Aid at Work is 3 years; First Aid at Work is also 3 years with annual refresher training recommended). Add the expiry date to the certificate using the date field in the editor.

Our templates are ideal for in-house training programmes, community first aid courses, and personal record-keeping. For regulated workplace first aid compliance, certificates must be issued by an accredited training provider. Use our templates as supplementary certificates or for programmes where official accreditation is not required.

A CPR certificate specifically documents training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation. A first aid certificate is broader — it covers CPR plus other emergency responses such as wound care, fractures, burns, choking, and shock management. Many first aid courses include CPR as a module. If your trainees completed both, you can issue one certificate with the course title "First Aid and CPR" — just edit the title field in the template.

EFAW (Emergency First Aid at Work) is a 1-day HSE-regulated course covering basic first aid for lower-risk workplaces. FAW (First Aid at Work) is a 3-day course for higher-risk environments and produces first aiders qualified to manage a wider range of emergencies. Both qualifications are valid for 3 years. Our templates are editable for both — simply update the course title field to "Emergency First Aid at Work" or "First Aid at Work" as appropriate.

Yes — our Bulk Certificate Maker lets you upload a spreadsheet of trainee names and instantly generate a personalised first aid certificate for every person in one batch. Ideal for corporate training days, school staff first aid courses, and sports club certification events where you need dozens of certificates quickly.
